Bring the right tools for the job:

How to make a simple Banner Bar installation kit for your shop

The Banner Bar was designed to make installing freestanding banners easy but of course It's only easy if you have the right tools for the job.  Some tools are used for all installs and some tools are recommended as a "just in case" scenario.

Installation ToolsSmall toolbox (always stocked and ready to go)

Small drill with a 1/8" bit for securing the bungee retainers

Phillips screwdriver for fastening the bungee retainer screws

Tape measure (not always needed but nice to have)

Utility or other style of knife (not always needed but nice to have)

Channellock pliers (use to straighten deformed t-post tops)

Flat rasp & round file (use to de-bur t-posts or improve clearance on post caps, etc.)  Not needed very often but nice to have available

Gloves (especially when installing in rocky ground)

Ear plugs (prevent ear damage when driving posts into ground)

Post puller (optional but very handy to remove existing t-posts from ground)

Post driver (I like the type that has a post straightener at the top, especially for rocky soil installs - available at Tractor Supply)

Hand saw (not pictured: used to shorten pole covers on sloped installations)

Extra Parts

The following extra parts are suggested especially when servicing existing Banner Bar clients.  Extra parts are available by contacting us directly at [email protected]Extra set of bungee retainers

Extra set of post caps

Extra post extension

Full set of bungees (top and side bungees).  We recommend keeping fresh bungees on your install truck or in your sales vehicles so you can quickly change your client's bungees when needed.

T-Posts

T-posts are inexpensive and readily available at most ranch supply stores.  See our recommended T-post and T-post driver suppliers here.   The Banner Bar is designed to work with 6.5' long t-posts.  T-posts are rated with a pound per foot rating.  The Banner Bar works with 1.25 lb per foot or 1.33 lb per foot t-posts.  Garden variety t-posts or U-channel posts are not compatible with the Banner Bar.
